Cosmetic Benefits of Sauna

Infrared sauna (סאונה)therapy can decrease inflammation and edema from soft tissue injuries such as strains and sprains. It can relieve arthritic pain, promote circulation and healing, balance the nervous system, and repair skin problems with no harmful side effects. A lack of full-spectrum lighting in the office environment can create work-related health problems. In fact, some believe that cool-white fluorescent lighting increases hyperactivity and fatigue. In contrast, the effects of sunlight can increase oxygen level in cells, muscle strength, and vitality.

Sunlight helps regulate hormonal activity, enhance immune function, and facilitate bone growth. Infrared sauna (סאונה)light lies between the visible and microwave portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. Infrared light has a range of wavelengths, just like visible light does. "Near infrared" light is closest in wavelength to visible light and "far infrared" is closer to the microwave region of the spectrum. The longer, far infrared wavelengths are about the size of a pin head. Far infrared waves are thermal. We experience this type of infrared radiation every day in the form of heat-it's nothing mystical. In the West, far infrared therapy has been promoted as part of alternative medicine far beyond the definitiveness of studies supporting its efficacy.

Infrared imaging devices have been used for breast cancer screening and other medical diagnostic applications. In most of these applications, the underlying principle is that pathology produces inflammation, and these locations of increased temperature can be found with an infrared imager. Studies are ongoing on hyper-spectral imaging technology to better understand the health benefits to be derived from the energy wavelengths range. NASA scientist George May began a partnership with the wound care clinic of the Gulfport Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi. He investigates the healing process as well as analyzes burns.

The infrared concept has been further expanded and marketed in the United States since 1981. Many questions need to be addressed to establish a sound basis for the active recommendation of infrared as the preferred treatment for the ailments discussed. Many far infrared therapy products remain experimental alternative ones. Always consult with your physician before using a FIR product such as a sauna (סאונה)for any reason. In the end, you may not need a magic lamp but just to get out and get some sun.
